External average
Polls — for job approval and the generic ballot we read the aggregate polls tables maintained on Wikipedia, where each row is a published average (RealClearPolitics, Silver Bulletin, Decision Desk HQ, The New York Times and others). We take a simple, unweighted mean. Fetched on-chain every 6 hours through HTTPS outcalls, so every replica of the contract agrees on the same figures.
Prediction markets — for control of the House and Senate we read the public APIs of Polymarket, Kalshi, PredictIt and Manifold (play money). These are prices, not polls: they imply the probability of an outcome. Each market is normalised so both parties sum to 100%, then averaged equally. Refreshed every 6 hours, also on-chain.
